Department of Medicine
The Department of Medicine, Queen’s University and the Southeastern Ontario Health Sciences Centre is part of one of the most historic medical research faculties in Canada. The clinical programs in Medicine occur in three excellent teaching hospitals in Kingston. The Department is proud of its Core Training Program in Medicine and a number of very strong subspecialty programs that enjoy high visibility and impressive research productivity. The medical environment at Queen’s is unique in North America. It enjoys a stable population base with integrated programs at the academic centre, in addition to an evolving health network alliance for the region. Such arrangements permit close productive relationships between staff and postgraduate students and provide a working model of an integrated, interdependent health care system. The 12 Divisions of the Department of Medicine are described below.
