The Asthma Research Unit is involved in asthma-specific research, under the leadership of Dr. M. Diane Lougheed. Research foci include asthma outcomes research (determinants of regional variation in emergency department visits and hospitalizations in Ontario; implementation of standardized asthma clinical pathways in emergency departments; asthma management and outcomes monitoring system), asthma symptom perception, and asthma clinical trials
