Research Groups and Areas

Sleep Research Group

There are several different thematic research areas within the sleep research group at KGH. Dr. Michael Fitzpatrick, Medical Director of the KGH Sleep Laboratory conducts two main areas of research:

  1. Pathogenesis and management of obstructive sleep apnea;
  2. Investigation of upper airway physiology during sleep
Dr. Helen Driver PhD conducts research in the broad area of sleep and women's health, including the effects of the menstrual cycle and pregnancy on sleep. Currently, the sleep research staff includes two research assistants and a Master's student.
